The short answer
Pierce RV sells new and used Winnebago travel trailers in Montana from two stores. Billings is at 3800 Pierce Parkway, off I-90 at the Shiloh interchange, and Great Falls is at 4200 10th Avenue South. Our Winnebago lineup covers the Access, which is the value family trailer, the Micro Minnie, which is only 7 feet wide and the easiest of the three to tow, and the Thrive, which is Winnebago's newest and most finished travel trailer. Between them they run from about 21 to 33 feet and sleep anywhere from 3 to 8. Montana has no general statewide sales tax, which is one reason buying here usually costs less than buying the same trailer in another state. Call Billings on 406-655-8000 or Great Falls on 406-761-3520, or see every Winnebago we have in stock.

Store details and directionsEvery Winnebago for sale at Pierce comes from one of three travel trailer families. They are genuinely different trailers aimed at different buyers, so it is worth understanding what separates them before you start looking at floor plans. Every Winnebago for sale on our lot is listed online with live pricing, photos and the stock number.
The Access is the most common Winnebago for sale on our lot and it is the value end of the Winnebago range and it is the family trailer of the three. It sleeps up to seven depending on floor plan, it has the widest spread of layouts, and it goes from a 21 foot single axle you can pull with a half ton up to a 33 foot bunkhouse. The exterior uses Winnebago's Tuff-Coat metal siding, and the tandem axle floor plans get a 60,000 BTU tankless water heater so you are not waiting on a tank to reheat.
What matters most for Montana is that the Access has a fully enclosed and heated underbelly with radiant foil insulation as standard. That is the feature that keeps your tanks and lines from freezing on a cold night in the Little Belts in September, and it is not standard on a lot of trailers in this price range. Other standard gear worth knowing about is the NXG engineered frame, Dexter E-Z Lube axles, load range E tires, heated pass through storage, a 30,000 BTU furnace and a one piece TPO roof.
| Floor plan | Length | Slides | Sleeps | Layout notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15BH | 21 ft 3 in | 0 | 6 | Single axle bunkhouse. Lightest way into an Access. |
| 15RB | 21 ft 3 in | 0 | 4 | Rear bath, couples layout, around 3,500 lb dry. |
| 18DBH | 22 ft 6 in | 0 | 8 | Double bunks. The most beds per foot we sell. |
| 18RK | 22 ft 6 in | 0 | 4 | Rear kitchen, no slide, easy to tow and park. |
| 25ML | 29 ft 0 in | 1 | 6 | Murphy bed layout, large slide, open living area. |
| 26BH | 29 ft 0 in | 0 | 8 | Rear bunks plus exterior kitchen with pull out fridge. |
| 26RL | 30 ft 0 in | 1 | 6 | Rear lounge with theater seating, pass through storage. |
| 28FK | 32 ft 0 in | 1 | 6 | Front kitchen, big pass through bath, large front storage. |
| 30BH | 33 ft 2 in | 1 | 8 | Longest Access. Full family bunkhouse with slide. |

The Micro Minnie is the one people drive from across the state for, and the reason is the width. It is 7 feet wide instead of the usual 8, which sounds like a small thing until you tow one. At 7 feet the trailer sits inside the mirrors of most trucks, so you can actually see down the side of it, and it fits campsites that an 8 foot trailer will not. Dry weights run in the 3,900 to 4,400 pound range with a 5,500 pound GVWR, so a half ton pulls it without effort and a lot of mid size SUVs handle it fine once you check the numbers.
The build is better than the size suggests. Azdel composite sidewalls instead of plain lauan, an NXG engineered frame, dual Dexter TORFLEX torsion axles, Goodyear Wrangler tires, a fully walkable roof, and a 200 watt solar panel with a 30 amp charge controller as standard. For cold weather it has the fully enclosed underbelly with radiant foil insulation plus heated holding tanks with interior controls and an 18,000 BTU furnace. That combination is why Micro Minnies stay out late into the fall around here instead of getting winterized in September.
| Floor plan | Length | Dry weight | Sleeps | Layout notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1800BH | 21 ft 11 in | about 3,800 lb | 5 | Front bed with rear bunks and a Pack-N-Play storage door. |
| 2000FRB | 22 ft 4 in | 3,942 lb | 3 | Front queen, rear bath, no slide. Simple and light. |
| 2100BH | 21 ft 11 in | about 4,100 lb | 5 | Bunkhouse with a slide. Good small family layout. |
| 2108DS | 22 ft 6 in | 4,340 lb | 4 | Dinette slide, opens the living area right up. |
| 2108FBS | 22 ft 5 in | 4,142 lb | 3 | Front queen with dual wardrobes, rear bath with skylight. |

The Thrive is new. Winnebago launched it in May 2025 as a deliberate move upmarket in towables, and it is the nicest travel trailer they build. There are eight floor plans running from about 22 to 33 feet with one or two slides, and it is still a half ton towable, starting at 4,740 pounds dry on the shortest plan.
What you notice first is the finish. A screw free fiberglass exterior with custom black aluminum wheels, a frameless panoramic front window, an Olympic queen bed at 66 by 80 inches instead of the usual short queen, molded fiberglass countertops, soft close cabinets and drawers, and Winnebago's own Renaissance Collection furniture built in the USA. The galley has a recessed three burner cooktop with a glass cover that doubles as prep space and a 10.6 cubic foot 12 volt fridge, which is a big fridge for a trailer this size. Select plans have stackable washer and dryer prep and a fireplace. Winnebago also put the Thrive through validation testing at the Transportation Research Center proving grounds, which is not something most towable makers bother with.
| Floor plan | Length | Sleeps | Layout notes |

| 18FBS | 22 ft 11 in | 4 | Shortest and lightest at about 4,740 lb. Couples plan with a front panoramic window. |

| 22MLS | about 26 ft | 4 to 6 | Murphy bed with a lounge slide. |

Since everything Winnebago we sell is a towable, this part matters more than anything else on the page. Get it wrong and the trailer is unsafe and unpleasant. Get it right and towing is boring, which is exactly what you want.
Read the loaded weight, not the sticker. Dry weight is the trailer as it leaves the factory with no water, propane, batteries, cargo or dealer installed options. Loaded for a real trip it is usually 1,000 to 1,500 pounds heavier. A Micro Minnie at 4,142 pounds dry has a 5,500 pound GVWR, and people reach it. Match your truck to the GVWR and the loaded tongue weight, not the brochure number.
Four numbers decide whether your vehicle can pull a given trailer, and the one that stops people is almost never towing capacity.
Bring your vehicle when you come in. We will pull your door jamb sticker, work out your real payload with your family and gear in it, and tell you straight if the trailer you are looking at is too much for it. We would rather sell you a smaller trailer than sell you a problem. We also set up weight distribution hitches and sway control at both stores through our parts and service departments.
Worth being straight about this, because a lot of people searching for Winnebago in Montana are picturing a motorhome. Winnebago built its name on motorhomes and still makes them, from the Solis and Revel camper vans through the View and Navion to the big diesel pushers.
The Winnebago product we stock is travel trailers. The Access, Micro Minnie and Thrive are what you will find on our lot with a Winnebago badge on them.
That does not mean we cannot put you in a motorhome. We are a full line dealer and we carry motorized product from other manufacturers, including Class A and Class C coaches and diesel units. If a motorhome is what you actually want, look through our motorhome inventory and call us, and we will walk you through how the brands we carry compare to the Winnebago models you have been reading about. If you have your heart set on a specific Winnebago motorhome, tell us anyway and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot do about sourcing one.
There is no single right answer. There is a right answer for your budget, how much repair work you want to deal with, and how many seasons you plan to keep it. This is roughly how the conversation goes on our lot.
Most of the used Winnebago inventory on our lot came in as a Montana trade, which usually means we already know the service history because we did the service. Before a used trailer goes out front it goes through our shop. We inspect the roof and all the sealant, pressure test the water system, leak test the LP system and check regulator pressure, run every appliance on both shore power and propane, inspect brakes, bearings and axles, and check the date codes on the tires. Whatever we find gets fixed or gets disclosed.
If you want your own inspector to look at it before you buy, we will hold the trailer and give an NRVIA certified inspector access to it. A dealer who says no to that is telling you something. Browse used Winnebago RVs, or get a number on your current rig through our trade in appraisal.
Montana is hard on RVs. Hundred degree afternoons on the Hi-Line in August, twenty below in January, wind on I-90 that shoves a tall trailer around, and county gravel that shakes a cheap build apart in two seasons. There are also long stretches of this state with no service bay anywhere near you. A trailer that does fine in Arizona does not automatically do fine here.
People ask this constantly and the answer surprises them, so read this part carefully. The National Park Service does not allow vehicles or vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet including bumpers, or wider than 8 feet including mirrors, between Avalanche Creek and Rising Sun. The word combination is what matters. Your truck plus any travel trailer is well over 21 feet, so no towable setup of any kind gets over Logan Pass. Not a Micro Minnie, not anything.
That is not a reason to buy differently. It is a reason to plan differently, and the plan is easy. You leave the trailer at the campground in Apgar or St. Mary and you drive the Sun Road in your tow vehicle, as long as the vehicle on its own is under the limits. Most half tons are over 21 feet, so check yours, and use the park shuttle if it is. The alpine section is also seasonal. It usually closes around the third Monday of October and often does not open end to end until late June, so think about when you are going as well as what you are towing.
| Where you want to go | What to know | Which one fits best |
|---|---|---|
| Going-to-the-Sun Road, Glacier | 21 ft combination limit. No trailer of any size gets through. Base camp and drive or shuttle it. | Any. Leave it at the campground. |
| Glacier area campgrounds | Many sites are short and tree lined. The 7 ft width is a real advantage. | Micro Minnie |
| Yellowstone campgrounds | Most sites cap between 30 and 40 ft. Full hookups only at Fishing Bridge RV Park. | Micro Minnie, short Access, most Thrive plans |
| Beartooth Highway to the northeast entrance | Steep switchbacks to a 10,947 ft summit. Usually open late May to mid October. Take it slow and watch temperatures. | Micro Minnie or a short Access |
| Dispersed camping on Custer Gallatin or Lewis and Clark forest | Gravel and washboard. Narrow beats long every time, and you want solar. | Micro Minnie |
| Private parks on the Billings to Great Falls corridor | Most take 35 ft and up with full hookups. | Access 30BH, Thrive 28BHS or 29RLO |
| Seasonal site at Fort Peck, Canyon Ferry or Hauser | Depends on the site, usually generous. Space and comfort matter more than towability. | Longest Access or Thrive you can tow |
If general rifle season in late October and November is part of the plan, you are asking the trailer to work at temperatures where an unprotected tank freezes solid. All three families have an enclosed underbelly, and the Micro Minnie adds heated holding tanks you can switch on from inside, which is the one you want if you are serious about late season. Most hunting camps in this state have no hookups either, so the 200 watt solar and the battery capacity matter as much as the furnace.
If you are parked in one spot through winter, plan on skirting, a heated water hose and a tank heater pad. We stock all of it at both stores.
Here are realistic ranges to budget against. These are a guide, not a quote. Model year, floor plan, options and whatever the factory is running at the time all move them, and the advertised price is on each listing.
| Family | New, typical range | Used, 3 to 6 years old |
|---|---|---|
| Access, single axle plans | $20,000 to $27,000 | $14,000 to $20,000 |
| Access, tandem axle plans | $28,000 to $42,000 | $19,000 to $30,000 |
| Micro Minnie | $30,000 to $45,000 | $21,000 to $33,000 |
| Thrive | $46,000 to $65,000 | Limited used market, launched 2025 |
Sticker MSRP on a travel trailer is close to meaningless, which is worth saying out loud. A Micro Minnie can carry an MSRP in the high forties and sell in the mid thirties. Ignore the crossed out number and compare the actual selling price between dealers.
Montana does not charge a general statewide sales tax. For a Montana resident buying and registering a trailer here, that removes a line item that would run into the thousands in most other states. Trailer registration and titling go through your county treasurer, so confirm your own fees with them.
If you live outside Montana you will generally owe sales or use tax in your home state when you register the trailer there, no matter where you bought it. We work with out of state buyers regularly and we handle the paperwork properly. We do not set up or advise on Montana LLC registration arrangements. Talk to your own attorney or accountant about that.
We finance through a panel of national RV lenders, terms run up to 20 years depending on the amount and the age of the unit, and approvals often come back the same day. Parts, accessories, a weight distribution hitch, service agreements and insurance can all roll into one payment, which is worth doing on a first trailer because the gear adds up fast. Start a secure credit application whenever you are ready.

Winnebago trailers move fast once spring hits, particularly the bunk plans. If there is a floor plan you want, tell us and we will track it down, whether it is here, at another store or a factory order.
Both stores run full service departments with technicians who work on Winnebago product all year. We handle Winnebago warranty claims and everything outside warranty as well. Roof reseals, slide adjustments, water damage repair, appliance swaps, axle, brake and bearing service, and collision work through the body shop in Billings.
We service RVs whether or not you bought from us, although customers who bought here get scheduling priority through the busy months from May to September. Book through our parts and service department or call the store nearest you.
Both parts counters carry genuine Winnebago parts alongside the general RV catalogue. Weight distribution hitches and sway bars, towing gear, sewer and water hardware, levelling blocks, awning parts, LP appliances, roof and sealant products, RV antifreeze and the winter gear list above. If we do not have it we order it.
Both stores offer RV storage, which matters more here than in most places given HOA rules across Billings and Great Falls and the fact that you are looking at six months of weather. Call for current availability and rates.
Start here rather than with floor plans. Year, make, model, engine, axle ratio and what the yellow payload sticker says. That one answer rules out half the lot before you walk it, and it saves you falling for a trailer your truck cannot carry.
Who comes with you, how many nights a year, hookups or dry camping, and whether you are chasing hunting season. Ten minutes of this narrows three families down to two or three floor plans.
Photos flatten out space. Sit at the dinette, lie on the bed, stand in the shower, open the pass through. A Micro Minnie and an Access of similar length feel completely different inside. Call ahead if you want a specific unit pulled up front and opened.
Bring your current RV in or send photos and the VIN. A trade comes straight off what you finance. Start it online through trade in value.
A short secure application gives you a real number and a real term, so you shop against your actual budget instead of a guess.
This is not an upsell, it is the difference between a trailer that tracks and one that fights you. We measure, fit and adjust weight distribution and sway control with the trailer loaded, not empty.
We do not hand over the keys and wave you off. Delivery covers hitching and unhitching, water systems, LP, electrical, the slide, levelling, furnace and water heater, dumping tanks and how to winterize. Record it on your phone.
Everything on a new trailer settles in the first season. Plan a check in once you have a few trips on it so we can retorque the lug nuts, adjust the brakes and catch the small stuff before it turns into a warranty claim in July.
We are the Winnebago dealer a lot of this state drives to, and we list every Winnebago for sale at both stores online. Between Billings and Great Falls we sit on both of the main corridors through Montana, I-90 and I-15. Customers come to us from all over the state, northern Wyoming and western North Dakota. Rough one way drive times below.
If you are driving more than an hour, call first. We will confirm the trailer is still here, have it unlocked and opened up, and put you with somebody who knows it. You can also see our full RV inventory across both stores before you set off.
Talk to someone who knows these trailers
Tell us what you tow with, where you camp and who comes along. We will narrow it to the two or three floor plans that actually fit, and we will tell you straight when a smaller or older one is the better buy.
